Meet Beachfit Trainer Nikki, and Get Inspired!

25 April 2017

What does your daily routine look like?

Rise between 4 – 4:30am, few deep breaths out on my balcony in the darkness with my pet rabbit, Animal flow movements and foam roll before off to teach some amazing ladies in various parks. I train myself, have a breaky, admin work from home or café, early arvo movement down in the park, PT sessions in the evening.

What’s your number 1 go-to meal?

Salad in a Jar.

What 1 habit do you insist on doing every day?

Foam rolling! I can’t move unless I do.

What’s Your secret indulgence?

Hmm Just one? Ok I am a cookie monster – Coles choc chip cookies I could eat by the packet. (Yes even trainers love chocolate! - We're human!)

3 movement rules you live by?

Hip openers every day, sitting no longer than 1 hour without getting up, learn how to activate and control! Especially Glute, Core and Upper back

What inspired you to become a personal trainer?

My Parents, I knew they needed movement help and I was unsure as to how to guide them, so I started studying and it led me down a path I didn’t even realize I’d enjoy. I was also a super fat kid and it wasn’t till high school that I even realized how unhealthy I was. So I know excuse after excuse and I know that the only person that could help me was me! I’ve been through the journey so I want to inspire others that they can overcome the road blocks too!

What does your weekly fitness routine look like?

Boxing on my old punching bag in folks garage, 1 x Weights strength session, 1 x BW movement strength session, 1 x HIIT Tabata style, 1 x Outdoor run, Optional Swim if there is time in the week.

Fast 3:

What's your favorite podcast? Lewis howes

If you could recommend one book that everyone MUST read what would it be?

I’m not much of a reader but it was gifted to me, you are enough by Cassie Mendoza-Jones.

What do you do for self-care?

Bunny cuddles every morning, Massage once a month, training is my “Me” time. Learning how to meditate – although its been a very long road and I’m still trying to get used to still and quiet.. Ha as some of you may have noticed I can be a little energetic at times !
